I would like to start off the celebration of U.S Independence Day by releasing this special 4th of July edition of eCurrents! We have just concluded a very successful seminar in Almedalen – the annual famous politician week in Sweden – discussing Swedish – U.S. trade relations as well as discussing how the outcome of the U.S. elections will affect Swedish-American trade. We would like to thank our main speaker Dr Ewa Björling, Swedish Minister of Trade, and panelists and attendees for joining us in the beatiful garden of Governor Cecilia Schelin Seidegård´s residence in Visby, Sweden. You can also read about SACC hosting the Governor of Virginia, Bob McDonnell on his trade mission to Sweden in mid-June, setting up interesting meetings and seminars with companies with interests in Virginia – a state of 8 million citizens and an important trading partner to Sweden.
The remaining parts of this issue will shine a special light on American history, exporting to America and the Made in America regulations that will affect every importer to the U.S.
