The SACC Carolinas member Scandinavian Child, LLC (SCI), a marketer and distributor of premium children’s products in North America, announces the acquisition of Svan AB, the Sweden-based designer and manufacturer of bentwood high chairs, bouncers and mini furniture marketed under the Svan and Anka brands.  Svan CEO, Kjell Hagström, will join Scandinavian Child as Vice President of Design and will lead an SCI team in Sweden.

The acquisition positions SCI for continued growth through product development and international expansion opportunities.  SCI plans to unveil new models and updated branding for the Svan collection at the All Baby and Child Expo this September in Louisville, Kentucky.

“We have distributed Svan’s products in North America for many years and share a passion for safety, functionality and innovative design,” said Brenda Berg, founder and CEO of Scandinavian Child.  “This acquisition gives SCI brand ownership of award-winning and classically designed juvenile products, and solidifies our commitment to bringing the best children’s products to families around the world.”

“I am thrilled to join the Scandinavian Child team,” commented Kjell Hagström. “The combination of our companies is a natural fit, and I am excited to formally work together to strengthen our products, sourcing and distribution capabilities and build a truly global juvenile products company.”
