SACC San Francisco/Silicon Valley has taken the initiative to a news recognition for talented Swedes by launching the Swedish Bay Area Achievement Awards 2010. The new prize will be presented in cooperation with the Swedish Trade Council, and the local Consulate General of Sweden. “We want to build upon the Swedish traditions of innovation and collaboration” says Nils Welin, Chairman of SACC San Francisco/Silicon Valley.

California and the Bay Area have seen many Swedes achieving personal and professional success across many different sectors, whether in IT, communications, technology, software, finance, film and entertainment, food, wine, and of course design.

“SACC SF/Silicon Valley wants to direct the spotlight on the successful Swedish achievers and local contributors to promoting entrepreneurial and trade links between Sweden and the U.S. We bring together several different Swedish organizations and companies in order to recognize successful people. The award will recognize and stimulate new and past achievements in line with the Chamber’s spirit,” says Nils Welin.

The first Swedish Bay Area Achievement Awards 2010 will be presented on October 22nd.  Nominations for the award are accepted until July 31st.
