Intern/Trainee Pre-requisites
Participants in the SACC-USA Trainee Program must:
Be a Swedish citizen or have very strong ties to Sweden and the intention to return to Sweden at the end of a training program.
Be at least 21 years old. No upper age limit.
For Intern category up to 12 months: Be currently enrolled in and pursuing studies at a post-secondary (eftergymnasial) educational institution outside the U.S., or have graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to the proposed training program start date.
For Trainee category up to 18 months: Have a degree or certificate from a post-secondary (eftergymnasial) educational institution outside the U.S. and at least one year related work experience in occupational field acquired outside the U.S. or, if no degree, 5 years work experience in occupational field.
Non-qualifying individuals include:
Swedish citizens who have received their degree in the U.S. (Shorter exchange studies in the U.S. are fine.)
Swedish citizens who used to be students but are not currently enrolled, have not received a degree, and do not yet have 5 years work experience.
Non-Swedish citizens who are in Sweden for the purpose of studying and do not have strong ties to Sweden.
