The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco/Silicon Valley (SACC-SF/SV) is seeking professional and highly motivated students for 4 to 12 months internships in San Francisco. An internship at SACC-SF is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge about international business in one of the world’s most dynamic regions while expanding your personal network.

Position Summary: Your main task as an intern is to constantly improve the Chamber’s work and increase the number of active members. As an intern you will also be responsible for promoting the Bay Area as an important start up location for Swedish companies interested in establishing their business in the USA. The interns will co-ordinate the Chamber’s Visitor Program, plan business and cultural events and create marketing campaigns for events, membership and much more. All administrative tasks at the Chamber’s office such as handling questions regarding trade matters are the Intern’s responsibilities. For a person who is responsible and conscientious there is room for independent projects and assisting in other fields of the Chamber’s activities.

Specific tasks:
• Respond to business inquires by phone and e-mail
• Recruit new members
• Help expanding the Chamber’s business partner network
• Create marketing campaigns and strategies
• Assist in the arrangements of the Chamber’s events
• Assistant editor of the Chamber’s monthly newspaper, Nordstjernan
• Assist in the co-ordination of company visits
• Advertising sales
• Handle mailings, update website and other administrative tasks
• Accounting and bookkeeping

The intern must have completed some business schooling. Must be proficient in MS Office and fluent in English and Swedish, both verbally and written. The intern possesses a positive and out-going attitude. He/she is able to work independently and has initiative skills. As an intern at SACC-SF/SV you must have a genuine interest in international trade matters, be highly service minded and able to manage multiple tasks and projects.
