The trainee will be placed at the Honorary Swedish Consulate in Seattle to assist with consular tasks as well as a part time position at Swedish American Chambers of Commerce-Seattle, SACC-Seattle. The trainee will also assist in the planning of Sweden Week 2013/2014.
Position Summary:
The trainee position at the Swedish Consulate entails working as consular assistant, SACC-Seattle membership responsible as well as performing regular administrative task.
As a consular assistant the trainee will preformed regular consular duties such as assisting the embassy with information gathering, planning and executing consular and SACC-Seattle events. Overall work to promote trade relations with Sweden and Pacific Northwest and represent the Consulate at community events.
In addition to event planning, tasks will include answering the phone and greeting visitors, administrative duties and projects in marketing, public relations and communications including web page updates and development. As a trainee you should be able to contact companies and individuals via telephone, email and in person to forge relationships with sponsors and recruit new members.

Requirements:
We believe that the person to fill the trainee position should be outgoing, flexible, organized and take initiative. The trainee needs to be self-motivated with ability to work independently. Other desired qualifications:
Master of Science Degree preferably in: Business Administration, Communications or equivalent. Fluency in English and Swedish Excellent ability to express themselves in writing and in speech Administrative experience as well as a background in event planning and marketing is a plus. Commitments within community/student organizations are regarded as merits. Web page management skills are desired.
