The Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in Colorado (SACC-CO) is an independent membership driven Swedish and American business collaborative. Our mission is to assist in connecting companies from Sweden and Colorado with businesses, industries, know-how and economic development organizations. We do this through personal contacts, networks, business matchmaking, trade missions and special events. Our vision is to increase trade, commerce and investments between Sweden and the USA, with Colorado as a primary focus.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Business and Marketing intern to join the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in Colorado. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead our communications and business operations, and work independently with strong support from the SACC Colorado Board, and manage various projects simultaneously.

​​​​​​​Your main responsibilities will include keeping the website up to date, utilizing social media tools for communication, creating and developing newsletters, managing our marketing operations, and engaging current and prospective business members in various activities. As the Business & Marketing intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the SACC Colorado network to fulfill its mission. You will be involved in promoting the Chamber and organizing various Chamber events. Your focus will also be on assisting in the planning and execution of networking events. The ideal candidate should possess a background in business, marketing and communications and enjoy  networking. If you are passionate about business, marketing, events, and communication, this internship offers a unique opportunity to get hands-on experience in the US business climate, and expand your network. The internship can be done remotely from Sweden, or in-person in Denver.

PLEASE NOTE: While candidates are welcome to apply for multiple positions at SACC, it's important to highlight that accepting an offered position and subsequently accepting a second position at SACC is not allowed. Doing so will result in disqualification from both positions.

Requirements

● Currently enrolled in a university program or graduated within a relevant field of study.
● Swedish citizenship or strong ties to Sweden (for U.S. visa purposes).
● Excellent verbal and written skills in both Swedish and English.
● Ability to take initiative and work independently.
● Experience with MailChimp and/or similar marketing tools is an advantage.
● Preferably, previous experience in organizing events.
● Software skills, including MS Office, and social media experience.

This is a six to twelve month internship starting in January 2025 (with certain flexibility). The internship does not provide monetary compensation as SACC-USA is a non-profit organization. As an intern abroad, you can apply for scholarships. Depending on the university program, some students may also be eligible for student aid from CSN. SACC-USA will assist with the visa application process. To be eligible for a J-1 visa, you must be a Swedish citizen. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience and business-related skills, while also developing a professional international network.
