Position Summary:
This full time Internship will start at the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, with its office at the beautiful House of Sweden. The Internship will give you a valuable international work-experience, the opportunity to learn more about a non-profit organization and great possibilities for networking with both Swedish and American companies. We have many joint events together with the Swedish Embassy, which shares the same address, and as an Intern you will have many possibilities to visit the Embassy and to work on these very important meetings and events.

As an intern you are highly involved in the execution of Chamber events, projects and operational activities, and you have an important role in ensuring the success of the Chamber. You will work closely together with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors and the Chamber’s members.

The second half of the internship will take place at one of our SACC-DC member companies situated in Washington DC. You will spend three days a week with the member company and continue to work two days a week at the SACC-DC office.

The tasks for the intern are:

• Events: Plan and implement international trade networking events to establish trade relations between Swedish and American businesses. Manage the Young Professional program by creating events, and using social media to foster relationships between young Swedish and American business professionals.
• Accounting and Treasury: Manage the accounting for the Chamber including events, membership dues, etc. and manage the membership database. Present accurate records for board members at board meetings.
• Marketing and Communications: Update and manage the SACC-DC website and facebook page. Write and create newsletters and event invitations.

Who we are looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a university program or recently graduated, preferably either in Business Administration or Media and Communication.
• Fluent in oral and written Swedish and English.
• You must be a Swedish citizen.
• Highly motivated and business-minded.
• Have an outgoing personality and strong communication skills.
• Able to work independently.
• Good organizational and administrative abilities.
• Preferably previous related work experience and previous international experience from studies or work.

Start date: Beginning of August 2013
Hours per Week: Full time (40 hours per week)
Duration: August 2013 to August 2014
Compensation: During the second half of this internship, we are happy to announce that the SACC-DC
member company will provide you with a SACC-USA recommended stipend. There is no monetary
compensation for the first half of the internship at SACC–DC as it is a non-profit organization, however,
as an intern abroad you are entitled to apply for several scholarships. Some Swedish students,
depending on their university program, are eligible to receive student aid from CSN.

Position Summary
